My Superhero is FIVE

I can’t believe my Daughter is celebrating her 5th birthday. I love that she choose a Superhero theme for her party. Who doesn’t love celebrating a strong woman?! And, my friends, my daughter is strong + determined + smart! My daughter was so involved in the party planning this year which made it memorable for the both of us. She loved looking at endless photos of superhero cake designs and “Wonder Woman” outfits. With the help of mom, Kennedy designed her custom cake + cookies {The Cookie Queen}, and of course picked out her Wonder Woman swimsuit! Enjoy all the party photos below, and links to buy your own Superhero decor!

Beary Special Birthday

Theodore is ONE! This has hands down been the fastest year of my life. For Theodore’s birthday I wanted to play on the theme of “woodland” and “bears” since he’s our “Teddy!” The first decoration I purchased was Theodore’s bear cake topper from Etsy. I customized the bear with a white ballon and a black and white plaid wrapped present. As soon as I received the cake topper in the mail, I fell in love with the buffalo print and decided to add more of the print to the party! I purchased a B/W buffalo print table runner from Amazon (cheaper than a full table cloth). And, Little Blue Olive from Etsy also made a customized B/W buffalo print “ONE” party hat to match the occasion! I love their keepsake party hats and crowns.

I ended up buying a lot of decor on amazon for this party. Literally, who has time to shop these days? And, I personally don’t have time to do it with two kids in tow. The “one” balloon, mason jars, letter-board and cake stand were all purchased on amazon. And, to make things a lot easier, I second hand purchased many of the other decor items (digital print of the mountains, 2nd cake stand, cupcake wrappers and toppers, greenery, tree straws, bear print balloons, etc). I got lucky!

The mountains were printed on engineer paper from Staples. I cut them out and glued them to cardboard for support to display as the party backdrop! It was a fun project. My daughter even helped with the glue.

I bought a styrofoam cone from AC Moore and got munchkins from Dunkin Donut to make the dessert tree! The tree took way more donuts than anticipated! The back of the tree was bare since we didn’t have time to run out to buy more!

To fill the party table, I added some additional personal touches. I picked up a B/W XOXO valentine frame ($3) from target and put a newly printed birthday photo of Theodore in it. I framed the “12 months” milestone card by Pearhead. I also displayed a Polaroid photo from his cake smash a few days prior in a cute winter woodland card holder.

For the guests, I requested that they “log in” and leave a message for the birthday boy in the book “the wonderful things you will be.” The book can be purchased from amazon, here!

Theodore’s birthday cake is homemade. I had to buy the cake pan since I didn’t own the smaller circular size (again, amazon). His cake was 3-tiered which I felt was the perfect size for our party size. We had about 35 guests.

The additional breakfast treats were purchased from Whole Foods and displayed in “bear” bowls and on the secondary cake stand.

I used the mason jars for water! I put a “bark” paper straw in each cup and added twine around the cup for a cute rustic touch. If I had more time, I would have created a themed birthday beverage to go with the glassware. If you have any questions about the party decor, leave a message or send me a DM over on Instagram!

Happy Birthday Theodore! Mama loves you! čÉ╗čĺÖ

Toy Story Birthday Invitations

I still can’t believe my daughter is turning THREE next month. Time flies. I had the vision of throwing the cutest mermaid party at our beach house but I was told “NO” (you know every toddler’s favorite word).┬áOnce my little one requested a “Toy Story Birthday Party,” my heart melted and there was a change of plans.

One thing about me is my love for paper products, especially┬áinvitations and greeting cards. I always end up supporting small businesses I find out Etsy. ┬áI find the most unique and cutest designs. This year, I asked my good friend & etsy shop owner, Forget Me Knot Invitations.┬á┬áI sent my ideas, and she came back with the cutest design. I immediately said YES, and off to the printer was my Daughter’s┬á3rd┬áBirthday invitation!

I love the red banana bow embellishment. It makes the “Toy Story” theme a little girly. To finish the invitation, the store owner and I┬áboth loved the idea of using kraft colored envelopes. And of course, I had to get matching stamps I found on! I hope our family loves the invitations as much as we do!

Check out Forget Me Knot Invitations on Etsy or Facebook! They do custom designs too!
