Spooktacular Decorating Ideas

This post is in partnership with Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, a brand I truly love. All opinions here are my own.

The kids and I are so excited for Halloween this season. Why? We transformed our home for the changing fall season, thanks to our friends at Christmas Tree Shops andThat!. ….Pumpkins + Skeltons galore!

I must admit we really didn’t have much Halloween + Fall decor before this shopping challenge. I’m more of a Christmas gal myself! It’s not that I didn’t want all the cute pumpkins, I did. I just didn’t know how to decorate on a budget! Hello, Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, you’re my new BFF….

Beware, you will want to jump in your car immediately to buy everything you see below. The prices for all their decor pieces are unreal. I added pops of pumpkins around my living room, added some freight to our kitchen bar nook, updated our front door and surprised the kids with Halloween themed baskets!

The Halloween themed baskets were so much fun to put together. Plus, I’ll reuse the baskets over and over again for other holidays + events, too. Inside the basket, I added kid seasonal activities, books + more. Every piece was under $5. My favorite items were the pumpkin light, Disney paint set and pumpkin buddy! The Christmas Tree Shops offers so many kid-friendly seasonal decor pieces + toys + activities at great prices!

I hope you enjoy all our Halloween + Fall decor photos below, especially our front door transformation! Living in the city, it can be challenging to decorate our front steps. The personalized buffalo pumpkin mat and seasonal wreath make my heart so happy.

Playroom Makeover | The Christmas Tree Shops

This post is in partnership with The Christmas Tree Shops andThat!, a brand I love. All opinions here are my own.

It felt like Christmas in July as I shopped thru the aisles at The Christmas Tree Shops at our local Cherry Hill, NJ location. My mission: Playroom + Kid room makeover!

Did you know The Christmas Tree Shops offer a variety of home goods? That’s right…it’s just not Christmas decor! It’s a mix feel of home goods + Bed Bath & Beyond!

We had so much fun looking at all the mermaid + shark + dinosaur + unicorn decor items. The kids wanted everything of course. So did I! I had to take a moment because I was overwhelmed with all fun finds at affordable prices! To say I wanted everything was an understatement. It was a treasure hunt-like experience. I felt like I won all the gold at the end. The 1st piece we put in our shopping cart was the tee-pee ($49.99). We choose the classic black + white stripe design, and it was super easy to assemble at home!

We almost bought the mermaid bedding sheets + quilt but I decided to focus on the playroom instead of the kids’ bedroom.  But check out the dinosaur print shown here. The full sheet set was ONLY $12.99. The Christmas Tree Shops offer kid bedding in both twin + full sizes.

Both of my kids wanted to take home kid-sized chairs! If you walked past us shopping, you would have seen both of my kids giggling taking turns sitting on all the chairs. I didn’t get a photo but there was a unicorn fuzzy chair ($39.99) that was my absolute favorite! Its perfect for a little girl’s nursery!

And if you’re anything like me, you crave organization and a clean home! But lets get real, life with kids is messy. We ended up spending the most time looking at baskets + bins to help organize our playroom.  There was so many basket sizes and prints. It was so exciting (#momlife)! It took me over 10 minutes to decide on what baskets I wanted to buy! I ended up loving the shark combo shown below. How cute?! I think I was singing “Baby Shark” on repeat in my head the entire time.

A few more items we took home were 2 different mermaid themed frames + a “FINS UP” wall clip board, a mermaid tail door stopper, and the cutest unicorn bamboo eatery set! The Christmas Tree Shop offers so many fun items at adorable prices! Their seasonal assortment is specular and ever-changing. Check out the rest of our playroom makeover photos below thanks to The Christmas Tree Shops!

HAAKAA BREAST PUMP REVIEW

Hey there…Mom Tribe, Mom Community, my social media followers + friends…where were you? How is it that over 80% of you own a HaaKa, and yet I’m the last to know about it? Its okay, I forgive you! This blog post is for all the new moms, those expecting, and those like me who are just looking for better pumping solutions! Pregnant? Attending a baby shower soon? Buy the Haakaa right now….you won’t regret it!

It’s seriously the coolest must-have! The Haakaa is a silicone breast pump that is award winning, best-selling, and nursing mom and lactation consultant recommended. Its easy to CLEAN and USE! Simply suction to your breast and let the pump do the work for you as it draws your milk using suction. Attach the pump while your child is feeding on your other breast and collect all let down and milk which would other wise be lost into a breast pad (again, mom tribe…where were you when I was exclusively pumping the first 2 months of my son’s life). This would of been a lifesaver for my overnight pumping sessions, feedings or when I was engorged during the day as my milk supply adjusted to my baby’s needs. It is so much easier than cleaning all the pump parts and being attached to cords of an electronic pump. The HaaKaa is a must for long distance trips, planes, car rides or anywhere you would like to pump silently and quickly! Leave a comment if you have any questions, but this mama over here highly recommends the HaaKaa!

Pumpkin Picking

How is Halloween in two weeks? October is already flying by…just like every other month this year. I’m so happy our family made time to go pick pumpkins, an annual tradition we started since our daughter has been born.  This year we visited Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford, NJ. It was a fall festival weekend, which offered tons of entertainment, food + pumpkins! We spent the afternoon feeding their goats, picking pumpkins, hayride, eating ice-cream + buying more treats from their farmer’s market! It was a perfect fall afternoon! Can’t wait to decorate + carve our pumpkins when we get home!

Little Spoon Organics

DSC_1583

I can’t wait until the baby in my belly is eating Baby Food.  No, seriously. I feel like I almost failed my daughter because she is the pickiest eater.  I am envious of any parent who has a baby or child who has a healthy appetite + likes to try new foods. I just hope that our next child will eat anything! I believe its important to feed your children organic + healthy foods whenever possible. As an infant, my daughter only ate organic. I love that more + more organic (children) companies are growing because our generation realizes how important healthy eating is for your body.

I recently tried the newest organic Baby Food, Little Spoon. It’s a Smarter Baby Food. Their Babyblends are thoughtfully designed with your child’s nutrition in mind. Their meals are Certified Organic, Non-GMO, plant-based and allergy-friendly! One of my favorite blends was their Carrot, Apple + Ginger blend. OMG…Delicious.

Little Spoon is one of the 1st baby food companies that I’ve ever heard of that ships directly to your door! Talk about convenience! Right now, its only invite-only in the NYC area + waitlisted,  but you can request an invite online at their website, www.littlespoon.com.

I hope they are delivering to Philadelphia in 9 months when our little guy will be trying his first purees!

Happy eating, little ones! xo
